I see ghost all the time...but are dark shadowy figures different than actually seeing someone's features?

Ever since i moved into my new house, ive seen dark shadowy figures. Ive seen a couple up close, in and outside of my house. Ive heard them, and even felt/saw one at night. However, someone told me that seeing ghost (features ex: hair, eyes, mouth---looks like a real person) and seeing dark figures (silhouettes) are two completely different things. Are the dark figures different from the ghost. (there have never been any physical harm to anybody from the ghost or figures. Also when there is a serious argument, it seems that the "ghost" become more "active") Are they un-rested spirits or just dark demons.......
