What does Dsm in Pshycitry stand for?

It is the diagnostic and statistical manual of psychiatric disorders from the american psychiatric ociation. The current version is the 4th, with text revision (TR). It is used primarily for billing purposes: if a clinician does not give an DSM diagnosis, they won't get paid by any insurance or government payer such as medicaid/medicare. It is not a helpful doent for anyone to understand their condition as it does not attempt to discuss cause or meaning of a diagnosis. It is really just there for billing and it greatly over emphasized by people.
